Miana Grafals
Born and raised in South Florida, Miana Grafals was introduced to photography at the age of twelve when she began working as a professional model. Living in Tokyo, Paris, Miami and New York and working with designers such as Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, Calvin Klein, John Galliano and Christian Lacroix, Miana spent nearly fifteen years in front of the camera shooting with renowned photographers such as Cleo Sullivan, Eugene Richards, and Bill Phelps. This wealth of experience played a profound role in instilling a passion and knowledge of the photographic arts and as a graduate of Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona, her studies focused on performance photography. Now retired from modeling Miana has spent the last few years on the other side of the camera as a freelance photographer, videographer and video editor.

Her video and photographic work has been exhibited internationally, including venues such as Dance on Camera Winter Performance Exhibit @ Puffin Room in NYC; La Clef Theater in Paris, France; 450 Broadway Gallery, NYC; The Cave, NYC; The Connelly Theater, NYC; Coolidge Theater, Brookline, MA; and Dance Theater Workshop, NYC.

Miana has also worked extensively as a video editor. Her advertising clients include Ammirati, Laura Meyers, Prepare, and Pam Bristow. She’s also worked with the film production companies Bricolage and Freshkills Communications Syndicate and has worked alongside Daniel Leeb on his feature documentary Messenger.

Miana currently resides in New York City, where she has lived and worked for the last 7 years.
